GROWING OLD
This course offers a look at some of the Issues of Aging in a four week course. Whilst change and loss are part of the territory of growing old, understanding and preparation go a long way to contribute to adaptability. Participants are offered an opportunity to share experiences and develop strategies that will contribute to successful aging. Recommended for our senior citizens as well as for children and family members with concerns about older relatives and friends.
COMMUNICATIONS
This course looks at ways to speak to each other. We all know what we would like to say, but it often doesn’t come out the way we want it to. It helps us to be listened to, to get our ideas across clearly, and so as not to be misunderstood. It looks at how to improve relationships with partners, children, and in the workplace. This course is 6 weeks in length.
BLENDED FAMILIES
This six-week course offers help with understanding and making peace within blended families. In a step family situation there may be problems with contact, day-to-day care and discipline, which creates conflict. The course looks at confrontations within the family with regard to loyalty, anger, and lack of control. Coaching involves looking at the myths and realities, grief and loss, methods of resolving conflict, hot to talk to each other, and tools for building a healthy family.
EFFECTIVE PARENTING
Information is offered on this course to teach skills. It provides opportunities to practice these skills. Issues addressed are: why children misbehave, listening skills and family values, boundaries, mottos, and expectations, self-esteem communication and building healthy relationships. This is a 6-week course.
SELF-ESTEEM
“Liking Who I Am,” is
an eight week course. The course gives an opportunity to share experiences.
