Claire began counselling at PSCC in 1992. She works with families, couples and individuals - both male and female. Claire is also a supervisor for counsellors and persons working in a wide range of professions and caring agencies in the community.

Claire is in private practice. She has previously worked as a counsellor in secondary schools and for Lifeline Franklin.

Claire and her husband have an adult family and much loved grand children.

 

THERESA DUNNE

Certificate in Counselling (MIT). MNZAC

Therese has been a counsellor with Papakura Support and Counselling Centre for over ten years; she works with individuals male or female and couples.

Therese has experience in Cognitive Therapy specialising in Anxiety, depression and grief.She has a Christian based philosophy to life’s challenges.

Therese is married with 5 adult children and enjoys her role as Nana to 5 grandchildren.


JANETTE PARKYNS

Janette feels she is privileged to be a counsellor, after years of working in business management.

Whilst working as a “general” counsellor for PSCC with ACC registered for sexual abuse, Janette works with a wide range of clients including terminal illness, mental health, and is comfortable working with men. On a private basis, she works as a Life Coach, EFT Therapy, Business Professional Supervision, and EAP work.

Janette works with a wide range of modalities is ‘client centred’ and has motivation for her clients to reach whatever path they set.


MARGARET PLUMMER


Dip. Counselling (MIT). MNZAC.

Margaret works with adults and couples, and is a group facilitator for self esteem groups and a men’s living without violence programme. Domestic violence, anger, self-esteem, depression, grief are all areas in which she has had experience.

Her belief in and passion for her work is centered on building healthy families, from which each individual may grow and flourish in his/her life.

Margaret is married with 3 adult daughters and 4 grandchildren.

 

FRAN MARSHALL

Dip.Counselling (MIT)

Fran works with individual adults and adolescents covering a range of issues. She has a particular interest in working with depression and self esteem

She works with a range of modalities using drawing, Gestalt, CBT and Sandtray Therapy.

Fran is part Maori Iwi-Tai nui and is married with two adult and two growing children.


BRUCE CONNOR

Bruce, being in his senior years, works effectively with adults and with couples and has particular interest in the needs of the elderly.

Being a husband, father and grandfather, Bruce has first hand understanding and experience of relationships and family affairs. In latter years he has been a volunteer with Victim Support and has retrained as a counsellor having completed a successful commercial building career as a hands on manager and industry leader. He has worked at the Centre since February 2002.

CHERIE MORAN

NZRN & Midwife Dip. Counselling (MIT)

Cherie offers general counselling to clients at Papakura Support and Counselling Centre.

She has a particular interest in Counselling women who present with birth related issues such as Post and Antenatal Depression, Grief and Loss relating to pregnancy and Childbirth and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that occurs as a result of the birth process.

She is also keen to support fellow midwives who seek counselling for issues that arise from their workplace experiences.

Cherie is married and has an adult family and grandchildren.

BRETT MARVIN

Brett has experience in Mental Health and Crisis intervention. He has been involved in both telephone and face to face counselling since 2000.

He works from a ‘client centred’ philosophy, drawing from number of counselling approaches to support and foster self awareness and personal growth. In addition to his work at Papakura Support and Counselling, Brett works with gamblers and those affected by the gambling of others.
